my reservations on reservations!!!

i hate to say that eventually this day had to come. People giving up their lives for being categorized as so called "lower caste " or to better put it "under privileged ones". But coming to think of it didn`t we bring this upon ourselves ?
Reservations, Quotas ARGH!!!!( I am actually proud to be a BITSIAN just for this one reason)
but let us put the idea on the table. For the past 60 years since Indian independence we have had reservations . Infinite no. of castes their categories and their quotas ... but still the HR minister Arjun Singh says we need more reservations and implements them in IIMs IITs etc.. what does this tell us ? The very fact that we need more reservation is reason enough to understand that the 60 years of reservations has not done the job...but still we wont accept that the concept is flawed... in fact on the contrary we will actually advocate the increase of reservations...
i still don`t understand why people can`t think logically... i am not against quotas ... but it should be done where it is necessary... all of us agree there is an urban and rural India... i don`t think anyone in mumbai, delhi ,chennai or any of the major cities in india discriminate people based on their caste... but still the government is bent upon doing the same... you should have reservations in places that need them where there is actual discrimination between the so called upper and lower casts...and proper appraisal of the policy should be done to evaluate the success of the policy.... but sadly none in the government have portrayed diligence in implementing of these policies...and why so is any fool`s guess...

ahh... even urban slums do u think such a distinct caste divide exists...surely i dont think ppl believe tht som1 is better thn som1 else bcos som1 is born out of a different womb... comon som effect of urban lifestyle will obviosly affect thm.. at least the younger generation if nt the older ones

hey...

i had a similar view in my ind for soo long... i was always against reservation based of caste... i had a neighbour in tirupathi who was a doctor... he go thr uthe SC quota... now he has earbed soo much... aleast 30 crores is his property... but still his son gets reservation...

n in cities how many of OC guys rnt on roads... i saw atleast ovr a hundred brahmins begging on roads in the last week...

reservation should eithr be a generation wise thing... or a economic status dependent thing... generation wise its easier to implement... economic status wise its v diff bcoz of the hidden properties that people hav...

poor ambedkar... he said reservation will b der for ten years n thn taken out... but now its politicians
